The snowy days seems to be almost over for the hills of North India as the snow show in these states had bid adieu to the region. Northern hills have been witnessing good mount of rain and snow since January. These rainy and snowy sessions submerged the popular hill stations of North India under a thick layer of snow. Moreover, the on and off showers also made it difficult for the travelers to tour these popular hill stations.
These rain and snow are a result of active Western Disturbances that had been affecting the Western Himalayas, thereby lashing the popular hill stations including Srinagar, Shimla, Manali, Nainital, and others.
As per Skymet Weather, at present also, the Western Disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir that will continue to give light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places over Jammu and Kashmir until March 28.
However, by March 29, as the system will start moving eastwards, the intensity of rain is likely to reduce over Jammu and Kashmir but parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will continue to witness scattered rain and thundershowers.

Thus, this could be considered as a good time for people to plan their trip to the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. As the temperatures are rising gradually, therefore incidents of snowfall will reduce but isolated places in upper reaches may receive light snow.
Skymet Weather foresees another fresh Western Disturbance which is likely to affect the Western Himalaya region around 31. Thus, the hills of North India will witness another spell of rain and thundershowers
In a nutshell, it can be said that month will end on a rainy note for the hills of North India.
