March is going to start on a rainy note for Delhi and NCR as there’s a forecast of the city receiving rains on March 2.
The last Western Disturbance of February is soon going to approach Western Himalayas on February 28. This is when we expect the rain activities to commence over Delhi and NCR including Punjab and Haryana by February 29 which might continue until March 2 or 3.
These on and off rains will lead to a decrease in maximum temperatures which would have increased to higher 30s till then. Minimum temperatures will also remain in double digits. We do not expect minimums to come down in single digits now. So, the Winter chill is almost over for Delhi and NCR.
Now, the winds will change direction and will start blowing from Northwest. Moreover, the speed of winds have also reduced as compared to the last 24 hours.
Pollution levels reduced during the last few days over the city due to strong winds from easterly direction as well as on and off rains. Now, however as the winds subside, pollution will once again increase in the next couple of days. The weather will remain dry until February 28 over Delhi NCR.
