The month of March started on a good note for Madhya Pradesh in terms of rainfall activities. During the last 24 hours, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh have received fairly widespread rain and thundershowers.

According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Umaria recorded 15 mm of rainfall, Satna 11 mm, Damoh 9 mm, Chhindwara, Betul and Sagar 7 mm each, Malanjkhand, Mandla and Rewa 6 mm each in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday. Bhopal, Khajuraho, Nowgaon and Guna reported light rain during the same time frame.

The state of Chhattisgarh received light rain, wherein Pendra Road observed 2 mm of rain. These rains were due to a Confluence Zone which was extending from Vidarbha to Chhattisgarh across Southeast Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, a Trough was seen from East Madhya Pradesh to Telangana across Vidarbha.

Now, the Confluence Zone has faded away. Moreover, Trough has weakened. But the remnants of these systems might give isolated rain in East Madhya Pradesh for some more time.

Meanwhile, the rainfall activities will increase in Chhattisgarh and scattered light to moderate rain may lash the state today.

By tomorrow, the weather of both states would clear up and the temperatures might also start rising.

Skymet forecasts another spell of rain in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between March 5 and 7. During this span, isolated hailstorm activities may lash parts of Chhattisgarh.
