Marathwada so far has witnessed surplus rains to the tune of 24% while Vidarbha has received 38% more rains than the normal amount.
On and off good rains have been going on over Vidarbha in Maharashtra for the last many days. However, all the districts of Marathwada have not received enough rains over the last few days. Now, a cyclonic circulation is lying over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan region. Another circulation can be seen over Marathwada and neighboring areas.
A trough has formed between the above-mentioned weather systems. Thus, we expect rain intensity to increase over Vidarbha as well as Marathwada. Moderate rains could be a possibility at many places. Heavy to very heavy showers are likely at one or two places.
Here's a look at the rainfall recorded in a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Sunday:
Good rains will continue in Vidarbha as well as Marathwada till July 27. There will be a brief respite from rains for about 24 hours. These regions will once again receive good Monsoon showers on July 29. Rainfall will decrease over Marathwada but scattered light rains will continue over Vidarbha even after July 29.
