During the last couple of days, the entire state of Karnataka has been receiving good rainfall activity. While, heavy rainfall conditions are prevailing at many places over coastal parts of Karnataka during the last four days, South Interior Karnataka has received light to moderate rains and thundershowers at scattered places during the last couple of days. Also, North Interior Karnataka has received light rains at isolated places.
At present, an off-shore Trough associated with a Cyclonic Circulation is prevailing over east-central Arabian sea at mid-tropospheric levels. Thus, coastal parts of Karnataka will receive heavy rains and thundershowers during the next three to four days. While Interior parts of Karnataka will receive light to moderate rains and thundershower due to the prevalence of moist winds. However, the northern parts of Karnataka will only receive very light rains due to lack of moisture conditions.
Places like that of Mangaluru, Uddippi, Shirali, Karvar and Honnavar may receive heavy rainfall while places like Bengaluru, Hassan, Mysore, Shimoga, Chamrajnagar etc are likely to receive light to moderate rains.
These rains will turn out very useful for the ongoing crops in the state. As of how, no significant change in the temperature pattern is expected, however.
