After witnessing an elongated dry spell, the state of Maharashtra finally witnessed season’s first rainy showers on Monday. Light rainy spells occurred at isolated places over the state, particularly over the Vidarbha region.

A Cyclonic Circulation is seen over northwest Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, a trough was also seen extending from this weather system up to Vidarbha causing some wet spells to fall in the region. In the wake of this weather system, light rains have occurred over the Vidarbha region in Maharashtra, particularly over Nagpur and Gondia.

During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Gondia observed 4.4 mm of rainy spells while some traces of rain were felt at Nagpur as well.

As per Skymet Weather, now, this Cyclonic Circulation is seen moving towards the east paving way to a reduction in rainfall activities over isolated parts of the state. This would lead to clear skies with bright sunny spells. However, cloudy skies are still expected.

Due to the cloudy skies, minimum temperatures in the region are likely to drop significantly, however, due to a reduction in rains and bright sunshine, a marginal rise in the maximum temperatures are also likely within next 24 hours.

Thus, in a nutshell, it can be concluded that now, weather of Maharashtra, especially over the Vidarbha region, is expected to go dry again as no more rains are foreseen on cards for the state as of now.
