Mumbai Weather

This season, Maharashtra has not seen good rainfall activities. However, on and off rains have been witnessed over Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada. Isolated rains occurred over southern parts of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Konkan and Goa were almost dry with 99 percent rainfall deficiency. The city of Mumbai has not seen any rain until now.

Talking about temperatures, Maharashtra has been seeing increased maximums with Nagpur recording the highest maximum of the season at a whopping 44.1 degrees. Heatwave has gripped many parts of Maharashtra, Vidarbha in particular.

Now, scattered rains are expected to occur over parts of Vidarbha between April 11 and 13. However, these rains will be patchy in nature only and maximums will not get affected. Heat Wave will persist over some areas of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra.

Indications are also there that another spell of rains may be seen in Maharashtra around April 15 and may continue until April 16.

An Anti Cyclone is over North Arabian Sea and will gradually move closer to the coast. Therefore, winds which are northwesterly in nature over Konkan and are keeping temperatures under check will change direction due to the proximity of Anti Cyclone.

Cities of Mumbai, Thane, Dahanu, Malegaon will see a change in wind direction, and northeasterly hot winds will blow over the region. Thus, temperatures will see an increase over these areas. Thus, Heat Wave like conditions will make an appearance over Madhya Maharashtra.

In fact, the city of  Maximums which are currently settling between 34 and 35 degrees may increase to 38 and 39 degrees during that time, resulting in sultry and very uneasy weather conditions.
