The rainy days for the state of Maharashtra has not taken a step back yet. The state particularly Madhya Maharashtra has been witnessing rains since last two to three days.

On account of these showers, the scorching mercury levels dipped and the prevailing 35°C plus maximums came down several notches settling in the lower 30’s.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Budhana recorded 11 mm of rainfall, Chandrapur 2.2 mm, Akola 0.7 mm, and Yavatmal witnessed 0.4 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation can be marked over North Interior Karnataka and a wind discontinuity is seen extending from Lakshadweep Island to south Vidarbha region across Karnataka.

In the wake of this weather system, light showers showed up in parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Moreover, the culmination of warm moist winds from the Bay of Bengal and comparatively dry cool winds from Maharashtra and Gujarat also contributed to the development of thunderclouds towards late afternoon and evening thereby leading to rains.

However, now this weather system is moving slightly eastwards thus rain activity over Interior Maharashtra is likely to reduce. Though parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada are still likely to continue witnessing isolated thunderstorms and thunder squalls along with rain for the next 24 hours.
