During the last 24 hours, Maharashtra saw weather going completely dry. Prior to that, on and off showers were taking place over parts of the state particularly over Konkan & Goa and Vidarbha.

During the month of July and around third week of August, most places of Konkan & Goa saw moderate to heavy showers leading to flash flooding in many parts. Correspondingly, the weather systems from Bay of Bengal that travelled westwards gave on and off rains over Vidarbha region.

However, rains went subdued over Maharashtra since the last week of August. At present, no weather system is seen traveling towards central parts of the country including Vidarbha.

Thus, we presume Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra to continue with dry weather conditions.

Furthermore, the westerly winds from Bay of Bengal have turned ineffective. The off- shore trough along the West Coast is also inactive. Thus, subdued Monsoon conditions will prevail over Konkan & Goa.

As per Skymet Weather, almost dry weather conditions are likely to grip Maharashtra for the next few days, but isolated light to very light rain in Konkan & Goa may continue.
