Weather in Maharashtra

The weather conditions across most parts of the country have made stepping out in sun pretty difficult. In fact, it’s time to agree to the fact that summer has finally arrived.

Somewhat similar conditions have gripped Maharashtra wherein most districts are reeling under hot weather conditions around 40°C. Hence, it can be said that heatwave like conditions has engulfed Maharashtra.

Some moderate to heavy rains with hailstorm activity had occurred in the recent past over a few districts of Maharashtra like Latur, Osmanabad, Nanded, Sholapur and Akola. However, the weather became dry once again and since then, maximums are steaming up.

The table below depicts a list of cities that recorded an above or close to 40°C on Thursday:

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for the dry and boiling mercury levels in Maharashtra can be attributed to the warm and dry northwesterly winds that are blowing over parts of the state from the already warm Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Moreover, the absence of any significant weather system is also fueling up in the rising temperatures.

Furthermore, Skymet Weather does not foresee any change in the ongoing warm weather. Hot days and dry weather are expected to continue prevailing for the next couple of days over Vidarbha and Marathwada region of Maharashtra.
