Mumbai Rains have been on the heavier side for the past 24 hours with waterlogging being witnessed in many parts of the city. In the last 24 hours, Santa Cruz has recorded 204 mm of rains.
Moreover, it's not just Mumbai which has seen hefty showers but also other parts of the West Coast in Maharashtra.
Moreover, in the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Saturday, Alibag recorded a whopping 411 mm of rainfall which happens to be a record-breaking amount. The last time the place saw such hefty showers was in August 1970, that too to the tune of 311 mm.
Moreover, very heavy rains lashed the other parts of West Coast as well wherein Matheran recorded a whopping 440 mm.
The suburbs of Mumbai also did record very heavy rains with Thane observing 342 mm of rainfall.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, hefty rains are expected to continue over these parts including Mumbai today wreaking more havoc over the region.
Three-digit rains had also lashed Ratnagiri which witnessed 154 mm of rainfall. Along with this, parts of Gujarat also saw mammoth rains with Valsad observing massive rains of 174 mm.
Now also, rains will continue to lash these areas for the next 24 hours, reducing thereafter.
