Maharashtra including Mumbai to receive heavy rain

Mumbai Rains

The Deep depression crossed Andhra Pradesh coast close to Kakinada on the morning of October 12th. After landfall, it weekend into a depression over Telangana. By October 13th it has weekend into a well-marked low over Marathwada and adjoining area. Today it is over Madhya Maharashtra and has further weakened into LPA (Low Pressure Area).

Moderate to heavy with few very heavy spells of rain and thundershower are expected over many parts of Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, and south Konkan and Goa today. Mumbai and suburbs may also receive scattered light to moderate rain by today evening. The intensity of rains will increase gradually over the city. Peak intensity may be on October 15. There may be isolated heavy spells over Mumbai and suburbs leading to waterlogging over low-lying areas. Commuters may face some problem in the morning of October 15th due to waterlogging and traffic jams.

Heavy rains are expected over Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Hingoli, Jalna, Beed, Solapur, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Raigad, and Pune districts.

Rain activities over Maharashtra will subside by October 16th. The low pressure over Madhya Maharashtra will emerge in the North East Arabian Sea, over South Gujarat Coast and North Maharashtra coast as a low-pressure area by tomorrow evening. There are chances of scattered rains to continue over Mumbai and suburbs, Thane, Dahanu and adjoining areas on October 16 as well.

The weather of Maharashtra will not go completely dry for at least next one week, on and off rains are expected to continue.
