Southwest Monsoon has been receiving splendid rains across the West Coast of the country since the beginning of the Monsoon season. However, the intensity of rains had reduced over the West Coast. However the rains have picked up pace once again and has been pouring moderate to heavy showers.

As per Skymet Weather, in the next 24 hours, the well-marked Low Pressure area over Rajasthan is likely to weaken and move westwards hence rainfall will be reducing in intensity along the West Coast. In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, the regions along the coast witnessed moderate to heavy rains.
Mahabaleshwar recorded whooping rain of 119 mm, Dahanu 40 mm, Harnai 37 mm, Cochin 28 mm, Allpuzha 26 mm, Cannur 25 mm, Ratnagiri and Nashik 23 mm, Honavar 21. 8 mm, Alibag 21 mm and Vengurla 14 mm. Santacruz Observatory in Mumbai recorded 4 mm and Colaba Observatory 3 mm. The vacation capital of India, Goa continues to record light to moderate rains and in the past 24 hours also it witnessed 9 mm of rain.

These rains can be attributed to the off shore trough which continues to persist from Gujarat to Kerala Coast. This system further intensified into the well-marked Low-Pressure area over Rajasthan and Gujarat and caused these moderate to heavy rains. The temperatures along the West coast is pleasant but humidity prevails at many places.
