Magnitude 7.8 quake rocks Iran, tremors felt in Delhi

A strong earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale has been reported in Iran-Pakistan border region at 4:14pm (IST). The epicenter of the earthquake was some 86 km away from Khash in Iran. The depth of the earthquake was 15.2 km.

Tremors were also felt across the Indian sub-continent in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad in India reported major tremors. There were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property in the capital.

Earlier on 10th of April. at least 37 people were reported to be killed and 850 injured in an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale in southeast of Bushehr near Persian Gulf in Iran.
