After witnessing prolonged dry spell, parts of Central India finally observed some rains. In fact, the last spell of rain and thundershowers that affected Central India were observed on January 26. Post this, the weather became dry.

However, in last 48 hours, most parts of Madhya Pradeshand Chhattisgarh along with few areas in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal observed rain and thundershower activities. Isolated showers also occurred in parts of Vidarbha region as well.

Skymet Weather had already forecast the possibility of showers along with hailstorm activities in parts of Central India and in last 2 days, hailstorms were observed at many districts of Madhya Pradesh like Sehore, Raisen, Jabalpur, Vidisha, and Narsinghpur.

The reason for these rain and thundershowers including hailstorm activities can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation that was over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Moreover, a trough was also seen extending from Madhya Maharashtra to this weather system. With the combined effect of both these weather systems, parts of Central India which were parched since January 26 were drenched with rain.

However, now, this weather system is said to have moved away and therefore, the weather is now expected to get cleared. Moreover, there is no possibility of any significant weather system as of now as well. Hence, bright sunshine is also likely to come up once again resulting in the rise in temperatures over Central India.
