Wintry conditions have made an onset over several parts of the country. So much so that many cities in Northwest and Central India have been observing below normal conditions. In fact, cold wave like conditions have also gripped several parts of Madhya Pradesh along with a few areas in the Vidarbha region.
In fact, during the last couple of days several areas have been witnessing temperatures in single digits as well in many areas of Madhya Pradesh. These weather conditions can be attributed to the cold northerly winds blowing over the region.
On November 19, the minimum at Chhindwara settled at 7.4 degrees, while Rewa observed a minimum of 8.4°C. Other areas where below normal minimums were recorded include Betul 8.5°C, Damoh 8.6°C, Khargone 10.8°C and Seoni 11.4 degrees.
However, some relief is in the offing in the coming days as a Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayas November 20 onward. Thus, wind pattern will change and temperatures will witness an increase around November 22.
The change will not be a long-term affair as cold northerly winds will make a comeback around November 25 and 26 resulting in the drop of minimums once again.
