Madhya Pradesh woke up to a rainy Sunday morning. All thanks to multiple weather systems affecting the state.
Southwest Monsoon brought fairly widespread light to moderate rains over Madhya Pradesh during last 24 hours. Monsoon rains have also been observed over the adjoining regions of West Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Marathwada.
This spell of rainfall could be attributed to the axis of the Monsoon trough which is now passing through Bikaner, Gwalior, Mirzapur, Daltonganj, Midnapore and thence eastsoutheastwards to the centre of low pressure area. The low pressure can now be seen over North Bay of Bengal and neighboring areas.
Moreover, there is cyclonic circulation over Southwest Uttar Pradesh. A trough from this system is extending up to Gujarat region. Thus, we can say that several weather systems have brought heavy to very heavy rainfall over many parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Here’s a look at the rainfall figures during last 24 hours:
Skymet Weather now expects heavy rainfall to continue over many areas of Madhya Pradesh, particularly northern and western parts. One or two extremely heavy spells are also likely over the next 24 to 36 hours.
