Several districts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have recorded scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers during the last 24 hours.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh recorded good rainfall of 26.2 mm, while Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh witnessed 24.1 mm of rainfall. Other places that recorded showers include Khandwa 19 mm, Jhansi 11.2 mm, Guna 6 mm, Agra 5.4 mm and Rewa 4 mm.
The reason for these rain and thundershowers over Madhya Pradesh can be attributed to a trough that is extending from Northwest Rajasthan to northeastern states. Similarly, another trough extends from Madhya Pradesh to Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
As per Skymet Weather, scattered rain and thundershowers will continue over the state for the next 24 hours. The weather will remain comfortable with temperatures not going beyond 40-degree mark. Thus, heatwave conditions are not likely to make a comeback.
Likewise, the reason for rain and thundershowers in Uttar Pradesh can be credited to the presence of a trough that is extending from Rajasthan to northeastern states via Uttar Pradesh.

Now, this system is likely to become weak and change in wind direction is also anticipated from easterly to northwesterly winds. Due to this, the weather will go dry, temperatures will see an upward trend along with decrease in humidity level. These weather conditions will continue for the next 3 to 4 days.
Weathermen at Skymet predict that rain will again commence by June 5 or 6 over Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. During this time, the rain intensity will be more and temperature profile may curtail down considerably.
