During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains occurred over eastern and central parts of Madhya Pradesh. The city of Jabalpur received very heavy rains. Now, we expect the rain intensity to increase even further. Rains may cover many parts of the state during the next 24 to 48 hours.
These rains occurred in the presence of a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area which currently can be marked over the eastern parts of Southeast Madhya Pradesh.
Thus, the rains are set to continue today as well and we expect moderate to heavy rains over most parts of the state.
Tomorrow, the western districts of Madhya Pradesh will get heavy to very heavy rains. The rain intensity may go down further but scattered light to moderate rains will continue.
From July 6 onward the weather systems will clear up. Yet again another weather system in the form of a Cyclonic Circulation will appear over Odisha and Chhattisgarh which will give rains over the eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh once again. Places such as Jabalpur, Mandla, Siddhi, Satna and Damoh will get good rains on July 6 and 7.
These rains will be a good sign for the ongoing crops. Also, the receding groundwater level is sure to improve.
