Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra to witness few spells of light rain

The two neighboring states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra don’t just share boundaries, but their vicinity to each other make these states share common weather conditions as well.

Just a week before, Cold Wave conditions were prevailing in parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra region. However, four to five days back, temperatures started rising over both the states, due to the moist winds blowing from Bay of Bengal. Moreover, at present the minimum temperatures are significantly above normal and likely to maintain this trend for another 24- 48 hours.

Presently, a trough is extending from North-central Arabian Sea to South Madhya Pradesh across Madhya Maharashtra. This makes the perfect ground for occurrence of very light rains over a few parts of Central and adjoining Southeast Madhya Pradesh by tomorrow. Apart from this, partly cloudy sky is expected in parts of Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and parts of North Madhya Maharashtra.

The trough is expected to disappear after 24 hours paving way for northerly- northeasterly winds to return over the region. Thus, we expect the temperatures to come down to normal or gradually below the normal mark, January 15 onward.
