The splash of March rain for the third weekend is yet to be experienced in Delhi, however, parts of NCR, south Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh have already experienced light rain in last 24 hours.
Thundershowers at isolated places along with light rain have already bathed parts of Northwest India last evening. The western disturbance over south Afghanistan and adjoining West Pakistan has attributed to this rain over plains of North India. The induced cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan has led to change in winds and light rain over Gujarat region and parts of Rajasthan.
Places in Maharashtra that received rain in last 24 hours include Mumbai with 1.7 mm of rain, Nashik 7 mm, Buldana 11 mm and Aurangabad 6.4 mm of rain. Parts of Madhya Pradesh include Gwalior with 18 mm of rain, Indore 23 mm and Bhopal with 6 mm of rain. Parts of Rajasthan received light rain as well that includes Jaipur with 1 mm of rain and Bikaner 5 mm of rain.
Due to light rain received and subsequent rainfall expected in next 48 hours , maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 2-4°C. Minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3°C in parts of Northwest India.
Rain expected in other parts
As the day progresses, thunderstorms accompanied with isolated hailstorm is likely in Punjab, parts of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Rain is likely over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
