The Monsoon has been relentless over the Central India, especially over Madhya Pradesh. At present there are a multiple weather systems that have been helping the rain activity over the region.
A low pressure area is presently seen over Southwest Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. Along with that an upper air cyclonic circulation at mid troposphere level. Another weather system as a low pressure area is over East Madhya Pradesh.
These multiple weather systems are affecting the region’s rainfall. The state has received good rains in this Monsoon. But this time around it is East Madhya Pradesh has received moderate rainfall at many places with heavy spells at few places. Satna has received 40 mm of rain in last 21 hours, Jabalpur received 29 mm of rainfall and Indore received 26 mm of rainfall.
The rain is expected to continue over the area with heavy spell at some places for the next 24-48 hours. Chances of flooding are also on the cards. But after 48 hours the low pressure area is likely to move in north-northwest direction & and the intensity of rain will slow down.
As of now East Madhya Pradesh is rainfall surplus by 32% and West Madhya Pradesh is rainfall surplus by 45%.
