The weather of Madhya Pradesh is governed by multiple Monsoon Weather systems, be it the Low-Pressure Area, Cyclonic Circulation or the Monsoon Trough. However, it is mostly the systems that brew up in the Bay of Bengal (irrespective of their tracks) bring in major rainfall activities for the state.
This season, the state has experienced two or three good spells of Monsoon rains so far. However, the rainfall activities have remained comparatively more over the western parts of the state as compared to East Madhya Pradesh until now.
According to Skymet Weather, the state of Madhya Pradesh is all set to experience a fresh Monsoon surge. A good spell of rain and thundershower activities is on the cards for many parts of the state during the next three to four days.
The reason for these rains can be attributed to the three major weather systems. The first one being the Low-Pressure Area that is brewing up in the Northwest Bay of Bengal. Second, is the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over the southern parts of Uttar Pradesh and the northern areas of Madhya Pradesh. The third and foremost important is the Monsoon Trough ( gradually shifting southwards) which is joining the above two systems and running across Madhya Pradesh.
All these systems would bring in intermittent moderate rains with a few heavy spells for Madhya Pradesh. However, this time as well, the intensity would remain comparatively more over the western areas as compared to the eastern ones. But, the threat of flood is ruled out. Meanwhile, the sky would remain overcast throughout this period.
As on July 24, West Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 9% (+/- 19 is normal), whereas rain deficiency in East Madhya Pradesh is sitting at 25%. We expect the upcoming rains would improve the rainfall statistics of the state to a significant extent.
