During last 24 hours, Madhya Pradesh has observed torrential rains. The eastern region of the state has received extremely heavy rainfall. While the rest part of Madhya Pradesh also witnessed moderate to heavy showers.
During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, rainfall recorded in the state is displayed in the table below:
As on July 7, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 34 percent and eastern part of the state stands at 54 percent rain surplus. So, it can be derived that both the regions of the state are enjoying a rain excess at present. The rains are expected to continue for next 3 days which will further intensify the rain surplus of the state as well.
As per Skymet Weather, central parts of the country are expected to receive above normal rainfall throughout the season.
The reason for these heavy rains can be attributed to a formation of a depression over northeast part of the state which has now weakened into a well-marked low pressure area. Now, this well marked low will further weaken into a low pressure area. However, it will still continue to give heavy to very heavy rains over many parts of Madhya Pradesh particularly over central and northern parts.
