In fact, during the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, North Rajasthan, parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh observed thunderstorm and dust storm activity along with few drops of rains. In fact, the temperatures remained close to 40°C in many parts.

As per Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance is moving across North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over West Punjab and adjoining Pakistan. Another trough is from this system across Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and is moving towards Madhya Pradesh.

The cyclonic circulation is also likely to move further northeastwards. Thus, the area is expected to remain unstable. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, dust storm and thunderstorm activity are expected at isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Northeast Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the weather in Delhi will remain dry. Though, thundercloud or dust raising winds may develop.

Places such as Ludhiana, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Ambala, Panchkula, Saharanpur, Alwar, and Mathura are likely to get affected during the next 24 hours. These pre Monsoon weather activities are expected to occur for a short duration.

The temperatures will continue to remain above normal as the activities will be short-lived and patchy in nature. Thus, respite from the heat is not anticipated.
