One of the largest state of the country Uttar Pradesh has witnessed good on and off Monsoon rains, this Monsoon season. Mainly West Uttar Pradesh received more rains compared to the other regions.
A fresh spell of rains are approaching the state once again. At present, a cyclonic circulation has developed over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and an active Monsoon trough is just below Uttar Pradesh region moving across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.

Thus the rain activity is expected to increase in many parts of East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Central parts. While Northwest Uttar Pradesh will continue with light to moderate spells and few spells of light rain may also occur over West Uttar Pradesh.
In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am, moderate intensity Monsoon shower of 39 mm was recorded in Lucknow, Meerut 30 mm and Rai Bareilly 30 mm. Light Monsoon showers were also witnessed by Hamirpur, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur.

Even Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad witnessed splashing rains late night which has led to pleasant weather conditions across the NCR region. At present East Uttar Pradesh is rain surplus though West Uttar Pradesh is still rain deficit with the upcoming rains the rain deficit is likely to cover up.
