The state of Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing dry and warm weather conditions for quite a long time now. So much so that the region has only recorded some rainfall about twenty days ago, when winter had not even completely bid adieu from these areas which was around February 14 and 15.
Since then, weather has remained dry over entire Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, the state is recording above normal maximums. In fact, some cities are also witnessing the maximum temperature above the 35-degree mark.

Currently, a Western Disturbance is moving across east Jammu and Kashmir and will further move towards the Tibet region. Not only this, its associated cyclonic circulation which is over Punjab and Haryana will move towards West Uttar Pradesh.
Due to the movement of these systems, spells of light rain and thundershowers are likely over parts of Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Thus, clouding will increase as time progresses. Therefore, cities of Etah, Mayapuri, Farukhabad, Aligarh, Rampur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Ghazipur are likely to see rains.
Thereafter, clouds will decrease, and rainfall activity will take a backseat. Meanwhile, day and night temperatures will also witness a marginal decrease for some time after the rain show, increasing thereafter.
