Northeast Monsoon has made onset over the southern parts of the country, however, not much rains have been seen in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. There have been a few moderate to heavy spells here and there but nothing significant has been seen so far.
However, that is all set to change now and good rains are expected to lash many parts of South India. A Cyclonic Circulation had developed over Southwest Bay of Bengal and under its influence, a low pressure has formed over the same region.
The system is now shifting closer to the coast and we can expect increase in the Northeast Monsoon activities. Thus, moderate to heavy rains are expected to be seen today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow, i.e. between October 28 and October 31 over Andhra Pradesh as well as Tamil Nadu.
These rains will be more confined to southern parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and northern parts of Tamil Nadu, which includes Chennai, Kanchipuram, Nellore, Ongole, Kavali, Machilipatnam right upto Puducherry. Other parts of the states will also see some rainfall activities.
In fact, parts of Kerala as well as some regions in Karnataka will also see some rainfall activities during the same time.
