A Well-marked low-pressure area over the Vidarbha region has moved northwestward and weakened to a low-pressure area. The system is now placed over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts. Remnants of this system will meander over this region, without any significant shift, for the next 4-5 days. Under its influence, moderate rains, embedded with isolated heavy spells will impact Southwest Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Rajasthan and North & Central Gujarat. Saurashtra & Kutch may escape any intense weather activity. Interiors of mainland Gujarat, bordering Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh,  will remain at risk of having intense rainfall at a few places during this period.

The low-pressure area has weakened and is likely to go soft further. Due to a lack of energy, the flattened system will not move much and remain nearly stagnant. Therefore, the intensity of the weather, as such, may not be grave but the spread of activity will cover large parts of these three states. The low pressure has dragged the western end of the monsoon trough, south of its normal position. It passes through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, and Indore and further extends eastward, to join the circulation brewing over the Northwest Bay of Bengal. The western end of the trough will oscillate mildly, north and south and trigger the weather activity over these parts.

There is very little chance of having any deluge over these parts in the next 4-5 days. Yet, isolated heavy rainfall, albeit for a short duration, can not be ruled out. The locations at risk will include the following: Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara, Jhalawar, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, Sirohi, Kota, Bundi and Baran in Rajasthan; Indore, Dhar, Khargone, Barwani, Khandwa, Ratlam, Jhabua, Dewas, Ujjain and Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh;  Mehsana, Palanpur, Deesa, Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Patan, Dahod, Godhra, Aravali, Mahisagar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Anand and Vadodara in Gujarat. The weather activity will continue for this week and spillover over likely, even at the start of next week. Significant and visible improvement is expected from mid-week next.
