This system is likely to move further in north-northeastwards along the East Coast of the country. Due to the movement of the weather system, light rain and thundershower is likely to commence along the coastal areas of West Bengal and some parts of Kolkata by today evening.

The rain and thundershower activity is likely to intensify from November 15. Therefore, moderate rain and thundershowers, along with isolated heavy showers and strong gusty winds may lash Kolkata, Diamond Harbour, Midnapore, Contai, Burdwan, Howrah, Hugli, Bankura, Nadia, 24 Parganas and Murshidabad.

From November 16, the rain intensity will reduce gradually over the state but the northern parts of the state will witness light rain. In wake of the rains, it is anticipated that the day temperatures will reduce significantly over Gangetic West Bengal, leading to cool  weather conditions.
