The well-marked low pressure area over east central and adjoining Northeast Bay Of Bengal has intensified into a depression and is sited over Myanmar.
As per the weather experts, the weather system is most expected to weaken into a well-marked low by today evening and thereafter will fade away speedily.

So, we can expect moderate to heavy showers over Myanmar during the next 24 hours. Also, one or two very heavy spells cannot be ruled out over the region.
Further this system would give light to moderate showers over the northeastern states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. In fact, some rains are likely to affect many parts of Bangladesh during the next 24 hours.
The system is likely to dwindle, so as a result the intensity of the showers will also take a back seat.
Updated May 29: Well marked low in Bay to intensify in depression, good rains in Northeast India
The low pressure area which was over east central Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a well-marked low and can be seen over east central and adjoining Northeast Bay Of Bengal. This weather system is most likely to intensify into a depression and move in north-northeasterly direction towards the Myanmar Coast.
In consequence to this, we can expect heavy to very heavy rains over Myanmar during the next 24 to 48 hours. Also, the system would give moderate showers accompanied with one or two heavy spells over Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, East Assam and parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
The sea conditions would remain rough during the next 48 hours over North Bay and adjoining Odisha Coast. The wind speed is likely to surge up to 40-50 km/hr. For that reason, we highly recommend the fishermen to avoid fishing and other off shore events for at least the next two weeks and exercise caution.
Updated May 28: Low Pressure in Bay to intensify, heavy rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands
As per weather experts, a low pressure area can be seen over east central Bay of Bengal and adjoining region. It is most expected to become well marked low during the next 24 hours.
Further, as per weathermen, the weather system is likely to move in north-northeasterly direction towards the Myanmar Coast. So in consequence to this, Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to record heavy to very heavy rainfall and thundershowers during the next 24 to 48 hours.
Nonetheless this weather system would not have any significant impact along the east coast of the country that includes Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.

As per Skymet Weather, the wind speed is likely to pick up pace during the next 48 hours over the Andhra and Odisha Coasts. At the same time period, the sea conditions are expected to be rough. So we highly advised the fishermen to take precautionary measures while venturing around the harsh sea for at least the next 48 hours. Thereafter, the weather system is most likely to weaken.
Skymet Weather anticipates Monsoon would take some time to hit the east coast of the country, bringing in some thunderous showers that would turn the weather pleasant. However, with the onset over Kerala that could be anytime soon, Southern tip of Tamil Nadu will relish some good showers.
