The state of Odisha has been observing good rains for the past few days. After remaining dry and warm, rain gods have decided to make an appearance over the state of Odisha giving the residents a sigh of relief.

The last 24 hours were no different and good rains occurred over North Coastal Odisha. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Gopalpur recorded a good 46 mm of rain, Chandbali 21 mm, Bhubaneswar 11 mm, Bhawanipatna 14 mm and Cuttack 3 mm.
Currently, a low pressure is persisting over West-Central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal. Therefore, moderate to heavy showers are possible over coastal districts of Odisha such as Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.

These showers will occur today and tomorrow. Thereafter, this weather system will move towards Bangladesh and intensity of rains over Odisha will once again reduce. But, scattered rains will continue and temperatures will remain in the comfortable range.
Monsoon is also in the offing for the state of Odisha. Good rains are also likely over Gangetic West Bengal. Therefore, in the next two to three days, we expect Monsoon to make an onset over coastal areas of Odisha.
