Even with just a few days in hand, June 2016 is already on the path of being rain deficient. But conditions are likely to change as a low pressure area has already formed over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh.
Due to this low pressure area, fairly widespread moderate rains have already lashed coastal Andhra Pradesh during last 24 hours. This system is expected to travel to the western and northwestern direction.
It is most likely that this weather system is likely to intensify to a well-marked low-pressure area.
The reason this system will give in more rains as it will continue to give moisture that will heighten rainfall over coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of South Odisha, South Chhattisgarh for next 24 hours.
Telangana to receive good rains tonight and by tomorrow this system will give moderate rains over Vidarbha and Marathwada with a few heavy spells at one or two places.
Entire Andhra Pradesh is enjoying surplus Monsoon rains whereas Telangana is witnessing normal rainfall with 15% surplus.
As the weather system intensifies Telangana will also get excess rains by June end. This weather system will continue to move in a westerly direction and rain intensity will increase over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa by June 29. As the system increases strength over Maharashtra the intensity of weather will decrease over coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Marathwada is rain surplus by 1% whereas Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra are both rain deficient. Due to this system brewing in Bay of Bengal, the rain deficiency may not nullify but it will drop down significantly before the June ends.
