The seventh consecutive Low-Pressure Area which was earlier over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal Odisha is now lying over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha and adjoining West Bengal.
Talking about the weather systems, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and another is over East Madhya Pradesh. The Axis of Monsoon Trough which is running from Northwest Rajasthan to North Bay of Bengal across North Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Low-Pressure Area is connecting all these systems. The number of systems joined by the Monsoon Trough is not only keeping the Monsoon active over central and eastern parts of the country but has also made the movement slow.
Once the Low-Pressure Area moves inland, it will get merged with the Monsoon Trough. The system is expected to move northwestward and will cover Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours. The places in the periphery of this system will also experience rains, like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will also get to see rains. Also, places on the south of the track that is Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra will also get to see good rains in wake of this Low-Pressure Area.
This system is stronger in comparison to the systems in the recent past. In other words, this system is powerful in terms of intensity and area, that is it is expected to cover wide areas.
Our experts have added that whenever these systems move inside, even the west coast gets activated. If not in full, in parts the coast does get activated. In the past 24 hours, Konkan and Goa have already received good rains. In the next 24 hours, parts of Konkan and Goa will continue to witness good rains.
Places like Ratnagiri, Mumbai, Dahanu, Harnai, Mahabaleshwar are very likely to witness moderate to heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
