A low intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.8 on the Richter scale has been reported from the Andaman Islands at around 2 pm today, on 11 November. The earthquake originated from its epicenter at Latitude 10.08 degrees North and Longitude 92.0 degrees East with a depth of 10 km. There was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.
This is the third such seismic activity in the month of November. On the 3rd of November, similar intensity earthquake was felt in an area off the east coast of Little Andaman. Next day on the 4th of November, north Andaman Islands witnessed an earthquake of magnitude 4.9 on the Richter scale.
