With rains remaining far and few, Bengaluru has been battling hot days and warm nights. The state capital has remained absolutely dry for over a month, paving way for rise in mercury.

The city, which is famous for its pleasant weather, is nowadays witnessing day maximums in mid 30s. Sun shines bright throughout the day. Even evenings do not see much relief, as minimums are too settling in mid 20s.
However, rains are likely to make a comeback over Bengaluru, which would bring much relief from the soaring mercury.
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains are expected to lash the city from March 15. The approaching spell would be a prolonged one and are likely to continue for 3-4 days, at least till March 18.
These showers would be then instrumental in restricting the rise in mercury. Comfortable weather conditions during the both days and nights would return to the city.
These showers can be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Comorin area, south Sri Lanka and Southwest Bay of Bengal. The system is most likely to intensify into a depression during the next 48 hours while moving west-northwestwards towards Southeast Arabian Sea.
After reaching Arabian Sea, the system would then most likely travel in northwest direction, parallel to the West Coast but slight away from it. It would during this time, when conditions would become favorable for rains over Karnataka including Bengaluru.
The system would largely affect Comorin region and Sri Lanka, that could see come moderate to heavy showers in the coming days. But the peripherals of the system would be capable enough of giving good rains over parts of South and Interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and even covering parts of Konkan & Goa region.
