Dry weather has been persisting in almost entire North India for quite some time now. So much so that none of these areas have even recorded the slightest rainfall. In fact, the hills of North India have also been dry and snow has been absent from many parts.

However, some rainfall is expected in isolated pockets of the foothills of Uttar Pradesh. Other areas of North India are likely to remain dry.

A Western Disturbance at present is over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. Under this system’s influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is expected to form by tomorrow. Not only this, a trough is likely to extend from this cyclonic circulation up to the foothills of Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, isolated rainfall activity is expected to be observed over a few areas of the foothills of Uttar Pradesh around December 25 and 26. Foggy mornings have already made a comeback in several parts of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow and Varanasi have been witnessing low visibility for quite some time.

Now, as the wind pattern is expected to change to easterlies, fog is expected to make a comeback over other parts of Uttar Pradesh as well. In fact, Delhi and the NCR region will also see foggy mornings for the next 48 hours.
