During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy showers have been occurring over Andhra Pradesh. Hence, several districts such as Kurnool, Ongole, Cuddappah, Tirupathi and Kalingapatnam have been experiencing a good amount of Monsoon showers.

Thus, the residents of this state were witnessing comfortable weather conditions since last few days. Besides, Rayalaseema region has also been observing heavy Monsoon rains.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Cuddappah recorded 71 mm of rainfall, Ongole 21.2 mm, Kurnool 20 mm, Tirupathi 16 mm, Kalingapatnam 14.2 mm, Machilipatnam 14 mm, Anantapur 10.5 mm, Nellore 7.5 mm and Vijayawada 6 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. A feeble cyclonic circulation is also seen prevailing over Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Coastal Odisha.

Due to these weather systems, moderate rain with isolated heavy showers is expected to continue over several districts of Andhra Pradesh particularly over coastal areas during the next 24 to 36 hours.
