Subdued Monsoon conditions have been prevailing in most parts of Maharashtra especially over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra regions. Only, Konkan & Goa continued to receive light to moderate Monsoon showers. Cities such as Ratnagiri, Harnai, Mahabaleshwar and Thane witnessed light to moderate rains.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Harnai 44.3 mm, Mahabaleshwar 37.5 mm, Bhira 35 mm, Thane 15.8 mm, Ratnagiri 13.6 mm, Dahanu 13.5 mm, Sholapur 6.9 mm, Chandrapur 6.8 mm, Wardha 2.8 mm and Mumbai 1.3 mm.
These rain and thundershowers can be attributed to a weather system prevailing in the proximity of the coast. Due to this, Konkan & Goa including Mumbai will continue to record light to moderate Monsoon showers. Also, places such as Dahanu, Bhira, Harnai, Ratnagiri and Mahabaleshwar will see light to moderate Monsoon rains for the next 24 to 48 hours.
While cities like Satara, Sangli, Pune and Nashik will settle with scattered light showers but other remaining parts of Maharashtra are expected to experience almost dry weather conditions.

Hereafter, Monsoon rains are expected to reduce even further over Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra, though scattered light rains cannot be ruled out over these regions. However, light to moderate rains over Konkan & Goa including Mumbai is expected to continue.
