In the last 24 hours, Bengaluru recorded heavy rains to the tune of 34.2 mm, followed by Agumbe 10.8, Belagavi 11.4 mm, Hassan 21.2 mm, Madikeri 13.6 mm, Mandya 32.9 mm, Mangaluru 68.2 mm, Mysuru 11.5 mm.

However according to Skymet weather rains are likely to reduce now. The north-south trough that was running from central parts of the country to South Interior Karnataka has now weekend. Therefore, the weather over northern parts of Karnataka will now remain mainly dry and warm.

A fresh cyclonic circulation can be seen brewing in South-east Arabian Sea along with a trough, with the presence of these systems, light to moderate rain will continue over South Interior Karnataka and South Coastal Karnataka.

Places like Bengaluru, Ramanagara, Mandya, Hassan, Mangalore are likely to receive light to moderate rains for during the next 24 hours. These pre-monsoon showers will mostly occur during the late afternoon and evening hours. The maximum temperatures will continue to settle in the mid-30s and nights are expected to remain comfortable.

Thereafter the cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify into low-pressure area, taking away all the moisture from the nearby areas, resulting in significant reduction in rains across most parts of Karnataka.
