At present East Uttar Pradesh has received just about normal rainfall with one percent surplus rains. On the contrary, West Uttar Pradesh is rain surplus by 21 percent.
However, this year, good rains are going on over most parts of the state and since last 2 to 3 days, fairly widespread rains were observed over central and western parts of the state.
During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, rainfall recorded in most parts of Uttar Pradesh is displayed in the table below:
Moderate rains at many places with heavy spells at a few parts are likely to continue over west and central parts of the state. Scattered rains are expected over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh for next 48 hours.
Now, the axis of Monsoon trough is expected to shift again towards Central India. Hence, it can be concluded that the state of Uttar Pradesh might witness good rains for next 2 days. Thereafter, axis of Monsoon trough will move over Uttar Pradesh which will lead to fairly widespread rainfall over entire state till first few days of August .
However, relief is expected within the first week of August when rain intensity is likely to reduce.
