It seems that rains have almost vanished from the hilly areas of the country. From last 24 hours, the hilly region of India has not received much showers.

In fact, rains have remained absent from the region for quite some time now. Due to this, most of the northern hills have also been witnessing a rise in temperatures.

In last 24 hours, almost close to no rains have been observed in Jammu and Kashmir however, some parts of Uttarakhand have still managed to observe a few moderate showers. Light to moderate rains were also witnessed at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh as well.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Dehradun and Joshimath in Uttarakhand have witnessed moderate showers of 17 mm and 35 mm respectively. During the similar time frame, Dharamsala recorded 23.8 mm rains while Una witnessed very light spells of 3.8 mm.

As of now, a Western Disturbance persists as an upper air trough over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, another cyclonic circulation is also marked over central Pakistan along with an adjoining trough extending up to North Pakistan.

In the wake of these two weather systems, scattered light showers are likely over the northern hills of India including Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. However, moderate showers are expected at a few places over Uttarakhand as well.

So, in a nutshell, it can be said that the northern hills of India are expected to witness some decent rains. Furthermore, the prevailing soaring temperatures over these areas are also expected to witness a drop. The temperatures are likely to scale down giving relief from the soaring weather.

Moreover, partly cloudy sky is also foreseen over these areas paving way to pleasant weather conditions over the hilly region of North India.
