In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday, Jabalpur recorded 0.7 mm rain, Malanjkhand 0.4 mm and Raipur 0.4 mm. In the same time frame, Chhindwara, Rajnandgaon, Durg and Mana observed traces of rain.

These rains can be attributed to the trough which is extending from Chhattisgarh to Tamil Nadu across East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

In fact, both the states have seen a significant drop of 3°C to 5°C in both maximum and minimum temperatures. The temperatures are not likely to rise immediately but the rise in temperatures will be observed in the next two to three days.

The trough over the region is expected to prevail for another 24 hours over the region but it will shift towards east. In wake of this, the intensity and the spread of rains will reduce over Madhya Pradesh. Isolated light rain will occur over East Madhya Pradesh and scattered showers are expected over Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather will become dry over both the states.
