Final leg of Monsoon has been giving decent rains over most of the northwestern states of the country. Particularly, Gujarat and Rajasthan have witnessed some light to moderate showers in the past 2 days.

The reason for these light to moderate spells can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which was over Marathwada and adjoining areas. Now, this weather system has further moved towards northwest and can be seen over South Gujarat coast and adjoining Maharashtra coast.

During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, mainly the northern parts of Rajasthan witnessed some moderate showers. While, in the last 24 hours, east parts of the state have witnessed scattered rains. However, south and southeastern parts of the state managed to record some light wet spells.

In a span of 24 hours, Churu received 38.5 mm, Kota witnessed 11.2 mm, Bikaner received 8.2 mm, Mount Abu 7 mm, Pali 5 mm, Jaisalmer 2.4 mm, Jaipur 1.5 mm and Udaipur received 0.7 mm rainfall.

As per Skymet Weather, now, this system is extending up to 7.6 km above sea level and is expected to shift further westwards slowly. A trough is extending from the system to south of Rajasthan.

Now, this weather system is likely to move mainly towards South and southeast Rajasthan during next 24 hrs. Mainly light spells with one or two moderate showers are expected over the state in next 24 hours. But due to the anti-cyclonic feature over northern part of the state, weather is expected to remain mainly hot.
