Light rains visit Hyderabad, more on weekend

November 1, 2016 1:40 PM |

Weather in HyderabadThe capital city of Hyderabad has recorded light rains during the last 24 hours. All thanks to the cyclonic circulation prevailing around the region.

A cyclonic circulation was prevailing over Coastal Tamil Nadu that was infusing moisture over parts of Telangana including Hyderabad. This led to thundery development and city receive 5.4 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday.

However, the system has now moved away in westerly direction, paving way of dry and cool winds over the region once again.

With this, dry weather conditions will make a comeback over Telangana including Hyderabad. Not only this, cool winds will also lead to drop in minimum temperatures.

But this will be a very short break of 2-3 days as a fresh low pressure area is developing in southeast Bay of Bengal. This is likely to track in northwest direction and may come close to the coast around November 3 or 4. Hence, we can expect another spell of rain and thundershowers over Hyderabad and adjoining areas around the weekend i.e. November 4-5.

Hyderabad usually witnesses mainly dry weather conditions during November, with only few rainy days. City records monthly average rainfall of 26.1 mm.
