Light rains to keep Bengaluru weather pleasant

July 21, 2017 2:12 PM |

Bengaluru rains

While the central and the eastern parts of the country are witnessing good rains with a few extremely heavy showers, states lying in the Southern Peninsular India are managing with light rainy traces only. Somewhat similar is the situation with Karnataka including Bengaluru which has been witnessing light rains only.

Though the month has proved to be rainy for the capital of Karnataka, rains have been falling over in reduced intensity. The highest amount of rainfall that the city has observed in the month of July is 9 mm which was recorded on July 19. Otherwise, it has just seen light spells only and similar weather condition is likely to continue.

The reason for the continuous light rains and absence of heavy spells can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system over the region.

As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon Trough is running via central parts of the country and an off-shore trough is running from South Gujarat to North Kerala. Therefore, interior Karnataka including Bengaluru is not affected by any significant weather system. In the wake of this, only light spells are making their way towards ‘the Garden City’ of the country.

Moreover, as of now, no major weather system is foreseen and hence, light rains due to localized cloud development are expected to continue in the state capital. Though the intensity of these rains will be isolated in nature and will be highly localized. Heavy spells are not anticipated in the near future but the sky will remain partly cloudy to cloudy and pleasant weather will continue to relish the residents of Bengaluru.
