Delhi has been receiving on and off Monsoon showers along with only one or two good spells of rains in past few days. Weather conditions were also quite pleasant over the national capital. However, during last 24 hours, the region has not witnessed any rains.
The rainfall over the region was due to the passing of axis of Monsoon trough near Delhi. Now the axis of Monsoon trough is running over North of Delhi. Moreover, westerly winds are also prevailing over Delhi.
As for now, we expect slight oscillation of the trough which will result in few short spells over the region.
National capital may witness scattered light rainfall activity on August 17. Temperatures are also likely to rise and partly cloudy sky is also expected over the region. Besides this, there could be a marginal reduction in humidity over the area.
Normally, Delhi receives good Monsoon rains throughout the month of August up till mid-September. This year as well, we expect on and off showers to continue over the areas till the middle of September and from then the rains will withdraw from the region, however humidity levels will remain on the higher end.
