The state of Kerala is the best performing state after Jammu and Kashmir in terms of rainfall activity for this season. In fact, at present, it is rain deficient by only 2%.

Now, Kerala rains have once again made a comeback after a gap of almost four to five days. Moreover, during the last 24 hours also, scattered light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells occurred over many parts of Kerala. Sky conditions over most places remained was partly cloudy to cloudy.

In the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Kochi recorded 35 mm of rain, followed by Kannur 3 mm.

Further as the system over Southeast Arabian Sea is moving away, rainfall activity is also expected to decrease over the entire state. Now mainly scattered light rains are expected to continue over Kerala during the next 24 hours.

Talking about the temperatures over Kerala, we expect night temperatures to drop marginally and mainly comfortable day conditions will prevail.

Furthermore, we expect rainfall activity to enhance over Kerala around December 3, as another easterly wave is expected over Tamil Nadu Coast during that time.

Thus, we can state that another spell of rain is expected to effect Kerala around December 5, as we expect light rains with moderate spells to occur during that time. These on and off rains may continue until December 7.
