The first month of Monsoon season has seen deficit rains over most parts of the country and Gujarat was the most affected pocket in India.

However, July came and situation started to improve a little. Many parts of the state witnessed good rains, yet the state is observing a rain deficiency in July. In fact, torrential rains during last 24 hours brought flood-like situation in Gujarat’s Dang district.

As per Skymet Weather, during last 24 hours, a few pockets of Gujarat received moderate showers.

Here is a list of rainfall observed in a few pockets of Gujarat during last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday:

As on July 10, pan India rainfall became surplus but Gujarat region and Saurashtra & Kutch still stands at a rain deficiency of 58 percent each. The reason for this light rainfall can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south Rajasthan. Due to this, Gujarat region still managed to receive some wet spells however, the Saurashtra and Kutch region is still deprived of good rainfall.

However, it is well predicted that the entire Gujarat state is likely to be blessed with Monsoon in another 24 hours.
