It seems the prayers for some relief in terms of temperatures in Maharashtra are all going in vain as hot and dry winds are continuously blowing over the entire state.
During the last 24 hours, isolated light rains occurred over Konkan & Goa as well as some parts of Madhya Maharashtra. No change in the weather of Vidarbha and Marathwada has been observed for quite some time and these places are still experiencing dry weather conditions.
Although, a trough extending from Tamil Nadu to northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra across Karnataka is expected to bring light rains over southern parts of Konkan & Goa as well as adjoining Madhya Maharashtra, but these rains will not continue for a longer period and the weather will once again go completely arid.
Moreover, hot winds have completely taken over the regions of Marathwada and Vidarbha as maximums here have soared near 35°C- 36°C whereas minimums are recorded between 16°C to 20°C.
Talking about the temperatures, the maximums in Madhya Maharashtra are in lower 30s whereas coastal areas are gripped by warm and humid winds with day temperatures around 35°C-36°C, thereby causing haziness around. On the other hand, minimums are around 20°C-24°C.
Likewise, the situation is worsening up for Mumbaikars too as temperatures here are reaching near 37°C with scorching sun all over the atmosphere.
With the system prevailing, weather activities in the coming days are expected to reduce, thereby decreasing the chances of rains and subsequently causing temperatures to rise.
Thus, residents here need to pray a little more for pleasant weather to set in.
